INTERNSHIPS

An internship is not a requirement for training. However, we would recommend all students do an internship, as it gives a chance for more experience before applying for a job.

If students are pursuing a degree through the University of the Nations, an internship is required for credits.

Media Village accepts a certain number of interns a year. Students must identify where they wish to do their internship, and make the necessary arrangements.

Internships can be done in both a Mission and Marketplace environment. Students can complete internships in their own nation, or with any participating media facility.

Students are required to complete weekly journals giving account of their learning which is based on a 'Outcome Based' philosophy. The hosting agency is also required to fill in monthly student evaluations. These reports are sent back to Media Village and become part of the student's portfolio.

As this is part of the experiential side of learning there is no financial remuneration given to students doing an internship - even in an industry based company.

If there is accommodation available students may apply to live at Media Village but preference is given to the students who will be studying that quarter.

 Internship fees are applicable.
