Cape Town has a reliable and fairly inexpensive public train system called the Metro Rail. It is safe for students to use this form of transport, provided they commute in groups and avoid using the train after dark. The Metro toll-free number for train times is 080 065 6463.

Students can also bring or rent cars for the duration of stay. Car rental shops can be found in the telephone directory. Media Village has put up a gate for safe parking of vehicles on the premises.

Should you want to drive, you need to get an international driver's license. South Africa drives on the left side of the road (British).
